Recently Glacier Employees at the Pueblo jobsite were able to teach and participate in a sight level training class. After the training session they were able to work off an official BM, do a level loop, and close out using five different points. Glacier would like to thank Levi Espinoza for putting on this training session and looks forward to continuing training and education for all employees.
Glacier Proud to Support Renovation of CSU-Pueblo Southeast Asia Vietnam Memorial

Glacier Construction is proud to be a donor for the renovation of the Southeast Asia Vietnam Memorial on the CSU-Pueblo campus. Originally dedicated in 1969, it was the first memorial of its kind in the Nation. With this renovation, the memorial will include the name of every military person from the State of Colorado that was lost in this conflict. The memorial is located on the northeast corner of the campus library.

Glacier Helps Clean Up Colorado

In an effort to keep Colorado beautiful and clean, Glacier adopted a part of the I-25 corridor, just south of Castle Rock. Glacier cares deeply for our home state, and the environment. This is just one more way we can contribute. Our sign is on the Northbound side of I-25 before the Plum Creek Parkway exit in Castle Rock.

The CSEA closely examines each candidate's commitment to safety and occupational health management, and risk control. Glacier works very hard on making safety its top priority. Glacier's Safety Director, Marcus Reiter, has completed all requirements for certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Certified Safety Professionals specialize in protecting workers, the public, property, and the environment by identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazzards. As a CSP, Marcus will manage Glacier's safety programs, aimed at compliance with Safety principles, federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Congratulations, Marcus!

Black Squirrel WWTF Dedication

On October 5, 2010 Cherokee Metropolitan District held a dedication ceremony for the recently completed Black Squirrel Wastewater Treatment Plant. Vice President Steve Stephenson was in attendance, along with the Project Manager, Brian Kerschen, and the Superintendent, Ray Smith. This was a great project, and Glacier looks forward to working with the Cherokee Metropolitan District on future projects.

Glacier gets healthy!
August 2, 2010Glacier has started a new health program for all employees. To kick off this program Glacier hosted a company wide health fair. This fair included various vendors from insurance companies to chiropractic clinic and fitness centers. The health fair also included a chance for employees to have a biometrics screening done to help them improve their overall health. Glacier was also featured in an article for The Colorado Health Foundation. The article featured an interview with Glacier's Controller, Amy Buechel. Read the entire article here.
Glacier is awarded a new major project in Pueblo, Colorado
July 14, 2010The Pueblo City Council voted unanimously to award the James R DiIorio WRF Sections 2/3/5, Ammonia and Nutrient Removal Project to Glacier Construction. Work on this project will include constructing and placing into operation new UV Disinfection, new biological wastewater treatment basins, new additional aeration basins, replacing the existing aeration blowers, centrate equalization basin, replacing the dissolved air flotation system pumps, yard piping and site work, HVAC work associated with the Blower Building expansion, I&C, and electrical work. Glacier looks forward to working with the City of Pueblo and Black & Veatch on this project.

Glacier Wins Award for Work on Broomfield Project

Glacier Construction was honored by the selection of the Carbon Road Pump Station Project for the American Public Works Association's Water Treatment and Distribution Award for 2009. We would like to thank the City and County of Broomfield for submitting the award, and to Tetra Tech, Inc. for being an excellent partner during the completion of the challenging project. The project finished on time and under budget, and the facility will serve the community for decades to come.

Glacier Breaks Ground on Farmers Korner North Plant

Glacier Construction Co., Inc. along with the Upper Blue Sanitation District and Carollo Engineers broke ground this week on the Farmers Korner North Plant project. This $27M project includes two new facilities that will expand the existing plant from 2 MGD to 5MGD.
